CWind Taiwan has been awarded a contract by Van Oord to charter a survey boat for the near-shore cable route survey of Ørsted’s Greater Changhua 1 & 2a Offshore Wind Farms.

Starting this March, CWind Taiwan will use a Taiwanese-flagged survey boat, Ocean Surveyor 3, to support Van Oord to conduct multibeam surveys of the wind farms. To ensure optimal accuracy of the survey data, CWind Taiwan is refitting Ocean Surveyor 3 with a moon pool prior to project commencement.

Following a successful track record in subsea surveys on various Taiwanese offshore wind farms, CWind Taiwan was again awarded for their experienced inhouse vessel crew and the survey expertise from its Taiwanese parent company, IOVTEC, which are crucial for precise and efficient data collection.

Ethan Wang, Commercial Director of CWind Taiwan, said: “CWind Taiwan is actively supporting all the ongoing offshore wind farms in Taiwan with our survey services. We are delighted to contribute our extensive experience through our Taiwanese-flagged survey boats and local crew into assisting Van Oord’s project in Taiwan.”
